System Selection
What type of fire suppression system is required?
The type of airport hangar fire suppression system that should be used depends on the type of hangar.
A high-expansion aircraft hangar foam fire suppression system is a high-performance choice for large hangars with one or more valuable aeroplanes present, and in the presence of flammable jet fuel and other combustible fluids.
Different hangars will have different needs, and other fire suppression systems may be appropriate for service and storage areas. Contact Fire Shield Systems to find out what will work best for your premises.

Does fire suppression foam damage aircrafts & how can this be prevented?
High-expansion foam is designed to be a safe, non-damaging suppression agent for sensitive environments such as aircraft hangars. Unlike water-based sprinkler systems, foam does not cause corrosion or electrical damage to aircraft systems and avionics.
Modern PFAS-free foam formulations are available that meet current environmental regulations while maintaining the same high performance needed to protect valuable aircraft assets.
